Ontario Asking for Your Ideas on Addressing Climate Change

Coming later this fall, the Government of Ontario will be releasing a plan that identifies key areas of focus on how to handle and become more resilient to climate change, and is running a consultation that is asking for Ontarians’ opinion regarding the matter.

This plan is going to be the first part of a broader approach towards climate change, and will protect clean air and water, encourage climate change conversation, and increase urban litter and waste reduction measures.

This project, headed by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, is looking to find the right balance between protecting the environment and a successful economy.

The coming plan will have several areas of focus, including: the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through dedicated measures, ensuring polluters are held accountable for their pollution amounts, and working to improve the business climate in Ontario through innovative climate solutions financed by the private sector.

The Government of Ontario is also concerned with taking their role in addressing climate change seriously, looking to find a balanced solution that benefits families in terms of affordability, while also stimulating the economy.

“Our quality of life depends on clean air to breathe, safe water to drink, and well-protected lands and parks,” the consultation said.

Ontario.ca is leaving the consultation form open online until November 16th, and is asking for anonymous opinions and ideas regarding their key areas of focus on how to handle climate change.

At Barrier Sciences Group, we applaud the actions that the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks are taking. Creating inclusive conversations about climate change, and taking climate change seriously are very beneficial in working towards a green energy future.

Looking to stimulate the economy through green energy initiatives is something that has received support from Michael Sabia, the chief executive of the Caisse de Depot et Placements, as being not only viable, but actually profitable and beneficial to the economy.

For those who are looking to do their part in contributing to a green future, Barrier Sciences Group offers an array of services that can help you improve your home’s energy efficiency; working to lower your carbon footprint, increase your home comfort, and lower your utility bills.

Our Registered Energy Advisors will work with you to find the most effective and cost-friendly ways you can reduce your home’s emissions, clearly explaining and laying out all of your possible options. By conducting a home energy assessment, our Registered Energy Advisors can provide you with an in-depth and detailed look at the efficiency of your home, and can even help you determine which home renovation rebates are available to you.
