Recommendations and Proposals

Project recommendations from the BSG team are by no means hurried.  A Recommendation Stress Test ensures that the project assessment has been challenged and validated, and that cost-effectiveness of each recommendation has been properly vetted.

For projects as complex as deep energy retrofit, the best recommendations for remediation are based on sound data, expert examination, and skilled analysis.  The Barrier Sciences Group is positioned to provide all of the above, recommending an action plan that directly addresses the issues and satisfies project priorities.  Recommendations rely on information collected during the investigation phase, and scrutinized during the assessment phase.

Once again, the BSG team engages in a step-by-step process for each client, and provides project recommendations that specifically attend to issues:  appropriate retrofit solutions to improve the building envelope and the energy profile; solution-oriented options that will enhance and improve the overall performance of the building; and a demonstration of cost-effectiveness for each recommended solution.

Priority 1

To recommend a suitable plan of action that will effectively stabilize an existing situation, while effectively stopping any further deterioration or damage to the property in question.

Priority 2

To recommend actions that would correct the issues at hand, based on cost-effectiveness, vis-á-vis long-term priorities.  A cost-benefit analysis assesses continued implementation.

Priority 3

To recommend actions that create long-term project benefits at a marginal cost.  These are actions that might be required to improve the performance levels of Priority 2 actions.

Priority 4

To recommend actions with a positive effect on building performance, and with a project cost that extends the payback period (ROI) beyond the life expectancy of the retrofit.
